BYU-USU Game Was Ugly!, Braves, Orioles and Athletics

Hello,

Last night's BYU-USU game was one of the ugliest college football games I've ever seen. I couldn't wait until it was over. Well then why didn't stop watching the game? Well that's because of how close it was. What were some of the ugly things about this game? The place kicking games was atrocious. There was only one PAT attempted and it was missed. There were also both blocked and missed field goals. Finally neither team scored a point at all in the second half.

Taysom Hill must be given all the reps in practice, no more splitting reps with Riley Nelson. Nelson has had his time at BYU and we thank him for his contributions. However it's time to step into the future and leave the past behind. There's no reason at all, besides injury to Hill, to have Nelson ever play again.

The Atlanta Braves ended their postseason in the usual fashion. In other words they lost as quickly as they possibly could. Now the storyline of that game of course will always be the erroneously called infield fly rule in the 8th inning. Did that "botched call", as David Wells called it, cost the Braves the chance at winning that game? It might of, however the 3 errors probably hurt more. Also the Braves lack of clutch hitting also hurt quite a bit. The Braves had plenty of chances to score runs.

It was too bad that Chipper Jones' career ended like that, but he did get a single in his last bat. Thanks again Chipper for all the great seasons.

In both of the Wild Card games, the road team won. It was a bit of a surprise that the Orioles beat the Rangers. However since Josh Hamilton's body language was screaming that he could care less, I'm not that surprised. It's clear Hamilton was ready for the season to be over. It sounds like he won't be back with the Rangers next year. If I was a Rangers fan, that wouldn't break my heart one bit. I just hope that none of my teams try to sign him. I want players that actually play hard all the time and act like they care when they lose.

That leaves 8 teams left in the playoffs. I'll be cheering for two of them, the A's and O's. The A's start play today, they are playing Detroit. Then Baltimore starts the playoffs tomorrow, they are playing the hated Yankees.
