"Nashville" TV Series: Clare Bowen Is A Talent To Be Watched

Hello,

Below is Australian actress Clare Bowen, with Sam Palladio, singing "If I Didn't Know Better". This song is from the premiere of "Nashville", I was blown away by it. Bowen sings this song with the perfect tone. This video only has 1,231 views as of now, but I expect it to skyrocket once this show makes it's premiere on Wednesday. (Early afternoon on October 7th, this video now has 2,053 views.)

Bowen plays Scarlett O'Connor, a singer and songwriter who apparently is hired to help boost Rayna's career. In the above scene she was volunteered by the dude she's singing with to sing at an open mic night at the Bluebird Cafe. The Bluebird Cafe is where she works as a waitress. As of now the characters played by Bowen and Palladio aren't lovers, but they are clearly on their way.

In the above clip you also see the lovely Connie Britton as Rayna James, the fading country music star. However she still wants to be relevant in the country music industry. She wants to go out on her own terms. Britton is one of the most beautiful women currently on broadcast television.

Hayden Panettiere plays Juliet Barnes, the young "ingenue", that seems to be willing to do anything or anyone to topple Rayna from her throne. O'Connor, James and Barnes are all great. Other than Powers Boothe, a malevolent and powerful king maker, the men tend to be weak. One of the weak men is Rayna's husband, Teddy Conrad (Eric Close). He's obviously being manipulated by his father-in-law for his own purposes to run for the mayor of Nashville. It's not a good idea to negotiate with the devil.

When this show sticks with the intrigue and the behind the scenes look at the country music industry, it's a great show. However I hate the whole political angle, especially in an election year. I've heard enough about politicians in real life.

I look forward to "Nashville" digging into the country music industry, but hopefully the political angle will be kept at a minimum.

"If I Didn't Know Better" seems to originally have been a Civil Wars song, they also do an amazing version of it:

Hayden Panettiere sings "Boys and Buses" in the premiere, but I can't find her version. However this is Carly Pearce's version:
