Carlos Boozer is back, Thanks Chicago!, Katherine McPhee

Hello,

I forgot to write about this yesterday. Carlos Boozer (or as Utah Jazz fans fondly called him Loozer) played his first game for the Bulls. The Bulls were so inspired by Boozer's return, they went out and lost by 29 points 107-78. He had missed all the preseason and the first 15 regular season games after he signed his 5 year- $80 million contract. That will go down as one of the worst NBA contracts ever. I guarantee that Boozer will miss several more games this season and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end up with a season ending injury. That's just the way Loozer rolls. After his tumultuous time with Utah, I'm surprised anyone signed him. Especially for that much money. Thank you Chicago for wanting him and thank you Utah Jazz for not wanting him. Al Jefferson is so much better than Boozer, Jefferson plays like he cares.

Loozer finished playing 22 minutes, 2-5 on field goals, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 5 points. The most amazing thing on that stat line is that Carlos Loozer got an assist! At least Chicago is teaching the black hole how to pass. Now let's see if they can get him to know how to play defense.

If you Bulls fan still think you made a good deal, watch the low lights of Boozer playing against Pau Gasol in last season's playoffs. Boozer was dominated on both ends by Gasol. If Carlos Boozer doesn't get injured before tonight's game, he will join the Bulls in Boston. I expect another subpar effort by Boozer.

Now on to much more interesting things. As frequent readers of this blog know I listen to iTunes almost 100% random. Last night on my iTunes the following song came on:

What an amazing song! McPhee continues to be one of the least under appreciated former Idols. This song is off "Unbroken", which also has several other amazing songs on it. McPhee is absolutely gorgeous, chooses good songs and has an excellent voice. Why is she not more famous? One request Katherine please let your hair grow back out, you look so much better. (See above.) Although you still remain a beautiful woman either way.

Here are some of the other amazing songs from that CD:

"Terrified":

"Had It All" (The short blond hair needs to go away also.)

"It's Not Right":

I'm pretty sure "Brand New Key" is a remake, I love McPhee's interpretation. I also like her sexy riff of George Michael's "Faith":

When we first heard of Katherine McPhee:

She was good in her audition, but look how much she had grown by the finale of that season of "AI". (I realize I have the benefit of hindsight now but how in the hell did Taylor Hicks win Season 5 of "American Idol"?) This is why no matter how much stupidity goes on with "AI", people still watch this show. To make this show successful all you have to do is to let the singers shine. Everything else is extraneous. I'm afraid that lesson hasn't been learned yet. Of course that's what happens when your focus is not quality but money. A great song and a great voice:
