The Heat Destroy The Bulls: The World Makes Sense Again, Why Is There No NBA Playoff Game on May 9th?

Hello,

The NBA playoff's second round has become very interesting. All 4 second round series are tied at 1-1 and at least 1 or 2 will probably go 7 games. Although I still expect the Heat to win their series in 5 games. I look forward to at least one exciting game each night of the week. So how in the hell is there no NBA playoff game on Thursday, May 9th? Put the Pacers-Knicks in prime time and let the Knicks fans and haters come out in full. #nbafail

Speaking of the Knicks, ESPN.com is reporting that Amar'e Stoudemire will play 10 to 15 minutes in Game 3 of their series. That move comes just in time... for the Pacers. How will the already selfish Knicks fit one more player into their team that wants a certain amount of shots a game. I can't wait to watch that potential disaster.

In a contentious and hard fought game the Heat were able to assert their dominance in a thorough 115-78 destruction of the injury depleted Bulls. Good thing for the Bulls they still have Carlos Boozer. He was absolutely amazing in this game. He played 24 minutes, yes he only played half of the game and it wasn't because he was in foul trouble. Of course, you usually have to play defense to get fouls called against you. How did the $15 million man do on the Meads Metric? Boozer was 3 for 9 and 2 of 2 for a total of 11 points. On such a scant amount of shots, surely he met the Meads Metric? Nope, Boozer only scored 8 points which is only 73% on the Meads Metric. But he did grab 4 rebounds, he had an all around game. An all around mediocre game. But the funniest thing about Boozer is the Bulls still have him under contract for 3 more years. If that's not an argument for the Amnesty clause, I don't know what is. Whose contract is worse, Stoudemire or Boozer?

How did LeBron James do on the Meads Metric? James was 7 for 12 from the field and 4 for 8 from the free throw line. He came up a tad bit short on the Meads Metric as he scored 19 points on 20 total shots (95% on the Meads Metric). However LeBron also had some amazing passes and finished with 9 assists. It's crazy how much better James is than Carmelo Anthony, I just don't understand why we have to hear about Anthony more.

The Heat are so much fun to watch when they are hitting on all cylinders. Last night the Heat were a lethal killing machine, they were more lethal than the Terminator.

I'm looking forward to Game 3 of this series. The United Center should be rocking for what is shaping up to be a battle. I'm sure there will be several references to the Chicago Bulls glory days, especially if Steve Kerr is calling the game.

A few questions for Game 3:  Will Derrick Rose make his long awaited season debut in Chicago? Will either Luol Deng or Kirk Hinrich be able to play? That's looking doubtful now. Will Carlos Boozer fail to reach double figures in points again? How many Bulls fans will curse the Bulls for signing Boozer to that ridiculous contract again? How many points will the Heat win by? How many technical/ flagrant fouls will be called? How many ejections will there be? What will the NBA do to make sure this game isn't overly physical? Why was the Knicks-Pacers game 2 on Tuesday, but game 3 isn't until Saturday? Especially when Heat-Bulls game 2 was on Wednesday and game 3 is only two days later?

I hope that Jeff Van Gundy is calling game 3 instead of Kerr. I get tired of Kerr's constant references to Michael Jordan. Yes, I understand when he's talking about Jordan, he's also talking about himself. But the Jordan references are tiresome.

Also I so look forward to the Eastern Conference Finals if the Knicks somehow qualify for them. I'd love to watch the Heat shut down both the overrated Knicks and Anthony. Very probably the Heat would sweep. My main question is would the Heat out score the Knicks by 100 points?

Other sports notes:  Tampa Bay cornerback extraordinare Ronde Barber is announcing his retirement today. Unlike his brother, he'll be missed. Barber has been an amazing player for the Buccaneers. He's been through everything with the Bucs. From the lowest lows to the year Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl. Barber played in 215 consecutive games and also had 12 defensive touchdowns in his 16 year career. Just one question for Mr. Barber, why not play for one more year? The Bucs look like they could have a really good season this year. But Bucs Nation thanks you Ronde for all your great games.

David Ortiz's 27 game hitting streak came to an end last night in the Twins 15-8 beat down of Boston. However the Red Sox are still tied for the second best record in the MLB this season. The Red Sox are 21-13 along with Texas and Baltimore. Baltimore and Boston share first place in the AL East, showing once again how closely contested the AL East will be this season. I'm also glad the Orioles are showing that they aren't a one season fluke. The Cardinals have the best record in the MLB at 21-12.

Last night was the most I've watched any hockey match since the Olympics. NHL hockey can be extremely exciting, especially when one has a rooting interest in a team. The momentum constantly changed last night, sometimes changing from moment to moment. When the Ducks had the puck around the Red Wings goal last night is especially exciting as I'm hoping Jimmy Howard will thwart the Ducks yet again.

My rooting interest is in the Detroit Red Wings. They are giving the second seeded Ducks all they can handle in this first round series. The two main things I hate about NHL hockey is the fighting and and the extended breaks between periods. I especially wonder why there is an intermission before overtime? That seems ridiculous especially since the overtime ended in less than 2 minutes.

With the Red Wings and Dodgers not playing tonight and also there being no NBA playoffs tonight I probably won't be blogging about sports tomorrow. Probably being the key word. I'm currently working on two blogs. First the 10 most beautiful women in the world and second songs that undeservedly have been forgotten. Your suggestion for both will be accepted. But please no suggestion for Angelina Jolie, Jessica Simpson or.......
