Top 14 "AI" contestants + predicted finish of remaining 12 contestants.

Hello,

I promise tomorrow I'm going to write at least one blog where I don't write about "AI" or our impending, devastating divorce.

The Top 14:

14) Tim Urban (last week: 20) sang a pretty good version of "Hallelujah". However how did he make it into the Top 12 over Alex Lambert? Lambert I know was very nervous, unfortunately it showed in his performances. However Lambert has that amazing voice. The only reason I would put Urban in over Lambert is because of Lambert's ugly mullet.

13) Paige Miles (last week: 9)sang the very boring "Smile". Again how is she still in this competition? How did she make it in over Katelyn Epperly, Lilly Scott, Hope Johnson, Tasha Layton etc.?

12) Lacey Brown (last week: 16) sang Brandi Carlisle's "The Story". She has sang some great songs, although she hasn't sung them as well as I thought she would. I'm not sure how she made it into the Top 12 either. Is it too late to replace either one of the above female contestants with Epperly, Layton or Johnson?

11) Katie Stevens (last week: 8). Although she was one of my early favorites, she only has done just enough to stay in the competition. However she hasn't done enough to establish her as a front runner.

10) Didi Benami (last week: 10) sang an abysmal "Rihannon". After terrible versions of "Rihannon" and "Landslide", Fleetwood Mac is going to put a restraining order on "AI". They talk about Andrew Garcia peaking in Hollywood, I think that Benami might have also. Her "Terrified" in Hollywood is one of the singing highlights of this season. It's time to have another one now.

9) Aaron Kelly (last week: 11) sang Lonestar's "I'm Already Home". I don't think he was as bad as a majority of people seem to think he was. I liked his version of that tearful song and definitely think he should stick with the country song selections.

8) Katelyn Epperly (last week: 3) sang Carole King's "I Can Feel The Earth Move". Granted she should have sang a different song or put more life into that song. Having said that, why again is she not on this show? I thought if everything broke her way she had a really good shot of going all the way.

7) Alex Lambert (last week: 7) sang Ray Lamongtane's "Trouble", a song that should be left and buried with no more potential Idols ever singing this song again. I just don't understand how is he not in this competition.

6) Andrew Garcia (last week: 1) sang Christina Aguilera's "Genie In A Bottle". Dude please no more Christina Aguilera songs, you can sing a song originally sung by a man. Back in Hollywood I thought he had a real shot at winning the whole competition, now I'm not so sure.

5) Micheal Lynche (last week: 14) sang Maxwell's "A Woman's Worth". This is someone who I thought had no chance to be your Season 9 "American Idol". There's now a slight possibility I may be eating my words. Realistically I don't think he's going to win, but he seems to be getting better and better each week.

4) Sioban Magnus (last week: 3) although she's doing pretty well in this competition I still think she's flying a little bit under the radar. I think that's good because other higher profile contestants will keep on knocking each other off. She has a pretty solid chance of winning.

3) Casey James (last week: 6) sang Keith Urban's "You'll Think Of Me". I think he sang that song a lot better than Urban does. Urban's version is sort of blah, whereas James' version has heart and soul. I expect pretty good performances each week from James. I think he has a very solid chance of winning this season. I don't know how solid of a post-"Idol" career he will have though. I think he'd do better than Kris Allen, Taylor Hicks or Ruben Stoddard. Those three seem to be limited to one kind of singing, whereas James seems to do well in most genres.

2) Lee Dewyze (last week: 5) sang Owl City's "Fireflies". Not his best performance, I thought that was with Hinder's "Lips of An Angel". That's an excellent song and I think he sung "Angels" well.

1) Crystal Bowersox (last week: 2) sang Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Good Reason", easily one of the best performances of this episode. I think she's a lot of people's favorite contestants. She's easily my favorite contestant and I look forward to what she's going to do each week. I just don't think she's going to win. Not because she's not the best contestant, but because it doesn't seem like she has a big enough voting base. This show would be a lot worse without her in it though.

Predicted order of finish:

12) Paige Miles the girl who likes to color and strip a song of much of what it makes it such a great song. Then she was even worse with the really dreary song "Smile".

11) Tim Urban, thanks to those internet pictures and the cute factor, he's still around. Unfortunately he can't sing very well. He reminds me a lot of Haley Scarnato. She wasn't the best singer but she's a babe.

10) Lacey Brown, I thought she was going to be better. It's clear now why she lost out to Megan Joy last season.

9) Katie Stevens, she desperately needs to have a breakout performance or any week from here forward could be her last week.

Honestly I think the above 4 are pretty much interchangeable in when they could go home. I think these will be the first four sent home, in fact I wish we could just skip to the Top 8 now.

8) Aaron Kelly, he's just like the Energizer Rabbit, he just keeps on going and going. I think his battery is starting to run down though.

7) Andrew Garcia, some people are calling him a one trick pony. He actually might consider singing Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" again. He needs to remind people how he got this far. He then needs to be better at picking songs if he survives after this week.

6) Michael Lynche, he keeps on getting stronger and stronger each week. I just don't think he has a legitimate chance of winning this competition. At this point though I think he'll go far. Can we just stop hearing about his baby?

5) Didi Benami, another person who needs to have a break out performance. Not only that but can we please stop talking about her tears? She's a person who cries easily, it's not something she can control. Let's give the girl a break!

4) Lee Dewyze, like Sioban Magnus, I think he's flying a little bit under the radar.
He needs to have more "Lips of An Angel" like performances though to win the whole thing. He also needs to start showing some personality.

3) Sioban Magnus, the girl dubbed a "dark horse" by Simon earlier in the season. I think she'll go far in this competition. I won't be surprised to see her and Crystal Bowersox have the best post-Idol careers.

2) Crystal Bowersox, again I don't see her winning the whole competition. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see her not even make it to second place. However if she gets the right songs, I think she can have a Daughtry like career. She writes her own songs and the couple I've hard are pretty good. She's the kind of singer where this is just a launching pad for a brighter career. For some people this is their singing peak.

1) Casey James, no one is more surprised than me in that I think he has the best chance to win this season's competition. I'm even more surprised following his dreadful Denver audition. If Kris Allen and Taylor Hicks can win this competition, why can't James?
