Top 10 Season 9 "AI" Performances before Top 20

Hello,

Here we go:

Special mention: "Pants On The Ground"- General Larry Platt, auditions

10) "Oh Darlin" by Katelyn Epperly, Top 24

9) "Fallin'" by Michelle Delamor, Top 24

8) "The "AI" Song"- Todrick Hall, auditions

7) "I Don't Need No Doctor"- Casey James, Hollywood

6) "Straight Up"- Andrew Garcia, Hollywood

5) "You Make Me Feel Like (A Natural Woman)"- Crystal Bowersox, Hollywood

4) "I Hope You Dance"- Hope Johnson, auditions

3) "If I Ain't Got You"- Ashley Rodriguez, auditions

2) "One Of Us"- Jermaine Sellers, auditions. I know it's hard to believe this was such a good performance with how janky he's been lately.

1) "Terrified"- Didi Benami, Hollywood. It's simply an amazing performance. Let's hop we can see more of it tonight.

Final 10 guys ratings and commentary.

1) Michael Lynche sang "It's A Man's, Man's World" by James Brown. His best performance to date, although it's still extremely unlikely he'll win. Grade B-, Buy? No.

2) John Park sang the boring "Gravity" by John Mayer". A terrible song and equally terrible performance. "AI" contestants please no more Jason Mraz or John Mayer. If you have to pick songs sung by people with the initials JM please pick James Morrison. He's the man. Park on the other hand has got to go home. Grade: D-, Buy? Hell no!

3) Casey James sang Gavin Degraw's "I Don't Wanna Be". It was the best song of the night so far. A blistering hot guitar solo. I like his version of this song better than DeGraw's. Grade: A, buy? probably.

4) Alex Lambert sang John Legend's "Everybody Knows". Another of the original songs I bought at napster.com. Lambert played his acoustic guitar and seemed a lot less nervous. I really like his voice. If he gets over his nerves he may have a chance to win this season's crown. Better than last week, but his James Morrison song then was a relative highlight. (Last week's men's performances were just horrible.) He also needs a haircut desperately. Grade: B, Buy? maybe.

5) Todrick Hall sang Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It". His arrangement was too slowed down. Simon said the song had "no relevance". I disagree it's still a singing competition isn't it? Turner's version of that song is a classic. So far he and Jermaine Sellers have probably been the two biggest disappointments based on their auditions. Grade: C, Buy? No.

6) Jermaine Sellers beat up Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On". I'm not a big fan of that song anyway but Sellers took that song to new lows. What's Going On? Not you Jermaine. He must be sent home immediately. His hair was nasty, he reminded me of one of people in Kid N' Play. Grade: D, Buy? No.

7) Andrew Garcia sang James Morrison's "You Give Me Something". A very cool song. I really liked Garcia again this week. Why do the judges give him such a hard time. He's one of my personal favorites by far, he may be challenging for my #1 next week. After hearing Alex Lambert and Garcia singing James Morrison songs, I've become a big fan. I checked out both of his CDs on napster.com. James Morrison rocks. Grade: B+, buy? maybe. I did buy the James Morrison original. Morrison's grade: A.

8) Aaron Kelly sang the Temptation's "My Girl". Aaron THAT WAS NOT THE RIGHT SONG CHOICE! His version was very boring. Go back to the Rascal Flatts songs. I think he will learn and be much better next week. Grade: C-, Buy? No.

9) Tim Urban sang Matt Nathanson's "Come On Get Higher". That was a lot better than his train wreck of "Apologize" last week. He doesn't deserve to go home this week, but I expect him to go home next week. He might go home with Todrick Hall. Grade: B+, Buy? No.

10) Lee Dewyze sang Hinder's "Lips of an Angel". That's a great song and I loved his version of it. I love Hinder's version of that song so much, I went to napster.com and bought it. He's definitely one of the best men this season. Grade: A, Buy? maybe.
